A Fire Safety Demonstration and Evacuation Drill was organised on 17 May 2025 at the college ground of Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies (LPCPS), Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, for students and staff members. The programme aimed to build awareness about fire hazards and to train participants in responding calmly and effectively during emergencies. A dedicated team from the Gomti Nagar Fire Station conducted the mock drill and live demonstration.

The session began with an introduction to the basic principles of fire, its common causes in school and household settings, and the importance of early detection and prompt reporting. The officers explained different classes of fire and demonstrated the proper use of various types of fire extinguishers placed on the ground. They also highlighted key safety precautions, such as not panicking, switching off the main power supply, and maintaining clear escape routes.

A practical demonstration of extinguishing a controlled fire was carried out, followed by a guided evacuation in which students practised assembling quickly at the designated safe area on the college ground. The drill reinforced the need for discipline, alertness, and teamwork during any crisis. LPCPS expressed its gratitude to Chief Fire Officer and the entire team of the Gomti Nagar Fire Station for their informative and impactful demonstration.
