On 27th September 2024, the NSS Unit of Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies (LPCPS) organized an awareness drive titled “Say No to Plastic” to promote environmental responsibility and discourage the use of single-use plastic among students and the community.

The drive aimed to educate students on the harmful effects of plastic pollution on land, water bodies, wildlife, and overall ecological balance. NSS volunteers actively participated by spreading messages on responsible waste management, alternatives to plastic, and the importance of adopting sustainable lifestyle habits.

During the programme, students were guided to take a pledge against the use of single-use plastic, committing themselves to reduce plastic consumption, refuse plastic carry bags, and encourage eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The pledge highlighted the collective responsibility of individuals in protecting the environment and minimizing plastic waste.

Faculty members supported and motivated the students to become ambassadors of change both inside and outside the campus. The drive created strong awareness among participants and reinforced the need for immediate action to combat plastic pollution.

The activity concluded with the NSS Unit reiterating its commitment to conducting more such eco-conscious initiatives to nurture a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free environment.
