Tree conservation and Planting under Van Mahotsav

On 5th July 2025, the NSS Unit of Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies (LPCPS) organized an awareness and plantation activity on “Tree Conservation and Planting” as part of the nationwide celebration of Van Mahotsav. A group of 10 NSS student volunteers, accompanied by NSS Programme Coordinators Dr. Ashish Kaushal, Associate Professor (LPCPS) and Mr. Chetan Khanna, Assistant Professor (LPCPS), actively participated in the event.

The programme aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, reducing pollution, and combating climate change. The coordinators explained the significance of afforestation, responsible use of natural resources, and community participation in environmental conservation.

During the activity, the students planted saplings in the college premises. They were also guided on proper methods of plantation, watering, mulching, and long-term care to ensure healthy growth of the saplings. The event helped inculcate a sense of responsibility among students toward the environment. The coordinators encouraged the volunteers to adopt each planted sapling and monitor its growth throughout the year.

The Van Mahotsav celebration successfully strengthened environmental awareness and reinforced LPCPS’s commitment to sustainable and green initiatives.
