On 10th September 2025, fourteen students from Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies under the banner of the NSS unit organized a literacy awareness programme titled “Akshar Gyan” at Prathmik Vidyalaya Chinhat-1, Lucknow.

The initiative was aimed at promoting basic learning among primary school children and encouraging them to take interest in studies. The college students interacted with the young learners and engaged them in fun-based educational activities. To make the learning process more effective, they distributed colorful charts related to Hindi and English alphabets, which served as useful teaching aids for both students and teachers of the school. Along with these, pencils were also distributed to the children, motivating them to practice writing and develop their basic literacy skills.

The programme created an environment of joy, curiosity, and active participation among the school students. The teachers of the primary school appreciated the efforts of the college students and acknowledged that such initiatives strengthen the bond between institutions and the community.

Through this programme, the NSS unit successfully demonstrated its commitment towards social responsibility and education for all. The event concluded with smiles on the faces of the children and a sense of fulfillment among the volunteers.
